Art is patience

When i first saw the advert for the Arabic Calligraphy class, i was more keen to meet the facilitator in person rather than the class itself hehe but nevertheless i pretty much HAD A GREAT TIME during the 3(it's actually 4 but i had fever last week and couldn't come) session we had and the company was lovely, especially with Riyadha whom i get pretty along well with.

This was my second stint with trying out Arabic Calligraphy or Khat in short, the first was done last year (if my memory recalls correctly or was it two years ago). However both the class were conducted differently, and somehow i enjoyed this one much better. Art to me is always about patience, to achieve something so subtle, simple and just 'wow' takes lots of patience and proper techniques. Opposite of all the other mentally-challenging course i've attended. Nevertheless it's definitely theraputic, something new to do during my free time(which i'm really short of right now). Enjoy the pics!

The different size of tools that can be use to write.

My writing in black and the Teacher's in red. Notice the vast difference.

We had to learn to cut our own writing tool, but i gave up half-way and kindly persuade my teacher to do mine for me hehe.

Thanks to Teacher Syed Hedder(centre, seated) and Tarmizi(2nd from right, seated) from Vocalpoint for organizing this class.
